In a bid to strengthen household nutrition and generate income, Babra and Keresiya Dumbula recently celebrated harvesting their first batches of mushrooms, producing 1.4kgs and 4kgs respectively, their harvests earned them a combined income of $27 in just one day.
What began as a small initiative is slowly creating new opportunities within the community, mushroom production is emerging as a sustainable livelihood option, helping families earn an income while providing a nutritious, protein-rich food source for their households.
