HAPPENING NOW!

Fambidzanai Permaculture Centre (FPC) is currently hosting a transformative three-day workshop on Integrated Pest and Disease Management at its Mt Hampden training and demonstration centre, running under the banner of ecological integrity and farmer-led innovation, the workshop has drawn lead farmers and Agricultural Business Advisory Officers (ABAOs) operating from PELUM Zimbabwe member organizations participating in the Zimbabwe Seed Sovereignty Program (ZSSP).

The training, which began on October 14th, is set to equip participants with practical, low-cost, and environmentally friendly strategies to manage pests and diseases without relying on synthetic chemicals.
Through hands-on demonstrations, knowledge exchange, and field-based learning, the workshop is fostering a deeper understanding of how biodiversity, soil health, and traditional knowledge can be harnessed to build resilient farming systems in which participants are expected to cascade the knowledge to their communities, strengthening and pushing for the agroecological practices adoption.

This initiative directly aligns with FPC’s mission to promote sustainable agriculture through education, training, and community empowerment, building a Zimbabwe where communities thrive through regenerative land use, food sovereignty, and environmental stewardship.
