AE SPECIAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME: CHIMANIMANI

In a bid to empower smallholder farmers with critical knowledge in agroecology practices, Fambidzanai Permaculture Centre (FPC) is currently training both farmers and Extension Officers towards the Special Certificate in Agroecology Practice in ward 7 Chimanimani.

A total of 39 participants, comprising of 16 males and 23 females from different wards of Chimanimani District, are taking part in this hands-on training, an initiative that is not just about farming techniques but also about building resilience, sustainability, food security and sovereignty for communities that have faced both environmental and economic challenges.

The training program combines practical fieldwork, interactive learning sessions, and indigenous knowledge systems, focusing on sustainable land use, soil regeneration, composting and organic pest control.

By including both farmers and agricultural extension officers, FPC ensures that the knowledge is not only rooted in local practice but also supported and scaled through institutional channels.

Upon completion of the program, all participants will graduate with a Special Certificate in Agroecology Practice, a recognition of their commitment to building a greener, more sustainable future for their communities.
